About Spicy Sports

Spicy Sports is a locally owned and independent ski, snowboard, and bike rental business with three winter locations in Whistler.

Since opening in 1992, we have built more than 30 years of experience by offering well-maintained equipment, fair pricing, and a straightforward local rental experience.

We aim to create a positive and supportive workplace where employees can learn, grow, and gain valuable experience. Many of our team members come to Whistler on working holiday or student visas to enjoy the mountain lifestyle, and we understand the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between work and time on the mountain.

What Position Are You Interested in With Spicy Sports?

Rental Technician
No experience is required, just a great attitude and willingness to learn.

Tuning Technician
The role includes ski and snowboard tuning, waxing, repairs, binding installation and testing, and helping maintain an organized and efficient workshop.

Tuning Shop Supervisor
Lead the tuning team, manage daily workshop operations, maintain quality and safety standards, and keep work organized and on schedule.

Warehouse Team Member
Help maintain our rental fleet and keep our stores stocked. This role is part of a small team and requires a valid full British Columbia driver's licence.

Rental Technician

Job Description

Spicy Sports is seeking driven and enthusiastic Rental Technicians to join our team for the upcoming 2026/27 winter season.

We are looking for individuals with a passion for skiing and snowboarding who are proactive, hands-on, and comfortable working in a fun, fast-paced team environment. Full training is provided, and previous experience is not required.

Job Type: Full-time seasonal

Duration: November 3, 2026 to April 2027

Hourly Rate: Starting at $20.00 per hour, based on experience

  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • The ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment
  • A willingness to learn
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and peak periods
  • The ability to communicate clearly in English
  • High school graduation
  • Previous rental, retail, hospitality, or equipment experience is an asset, but not required

Duties and responsibilities may include:

  • Greeting customers with professionalism and enthusiasm
  • Determining customers' equipment needs based on their size, ability level, and intended terrain
  • Recommending and explaining suitable rental equipment options
  • Providing customers with quotes, pricing, and rental information
  • Preparing skis, snowboards, boots, poles, helmets, and other rental equipment
  • Adjusting ski bindings according to manufacturer instructions, industry standards, and company procedures
  • Inspecting, cleaning, and sanitizing rental equipment
  • Assisting with the display and organization of skis, snowboards, accessories, and merchandise
  • Maintaining accurate booking and inventory records
  • Keeping customer areas, equipment areas, and workstations clean and organized
  • Supporting the team during busy periods
  • Completing other duties assigned by the Store Manager or Operations Managers
